RANGPUR, Jan 2 : State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga, MP, here Saturday said maximum development has taken place in Rangpur during the tenure of the present government.
“Besides, a number of bigger development programmes are being implemented in Rangpur,” he said and called upon the City Mayor, City Councilors and district administration to be more aware for properly completing the ongoing uplift activities.
The state minister was addressing a day-long seminar named ‘Planned Development and Housing: Rangpur Perspective’ jointly organised by ‘Mukta Akash’ and Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) at RCCI auditorium in the city as the chief guest.
President of Bangladesh Institute of Planners Professor Dr Golam Rahman, former President of REHAB Engineer Abdul Awal and Deputy Director of the Department of City Development Dr KZ Hossain Taufiq addressed as expert resource persons.
With RCCI President Abul Kashem in the chair, Secretary of ‘Mukta Akash’ Shamsul Alam, President of Rangpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anowara Ferdousi Poly, Secretary of Rangpur City Corporation Fazlul Kabir spoke, among others.
The experts delivered separate power point presentations with concrete diagrams on the developments in Rangpur in the seminar, according to a news agency.
