68th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) will be held on Monday amid different programmes. BCL chalked out a five-day programme in this anniversary.
On January 4 in 1948, BCL was floated a student organisation at the instruction of the father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a year before the formal emergence of Awami Muslim League, now Awami League.
Since its inception, BCL played bold and courageous roles in all progressive, democratic national movements and came out victorious with supreme sacrifices of its leaders and workers.
The leaders will place wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi road-32 at 6.30am on Monday. Then they will cut cakes. A colourful procession would be brought out from Aparajeyo Bangla of Dhaka University at 10 am, according to BSS. -Mithun
