A sexagenarian, who sustained injuries in a clash between two factions of Awami-League in Gangnipatokhali village in sadar upazila of Magura district 10 days ago, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Najir Biswas, 65, a resident of the same village.
Ajmal Huda, officer-in-charge of Magura Sadar Police Station, said there had been a longstanding dispute between the followers of AL leaders Abdur Rahman and Jahid Hasan over establishing supremacy at the village.
As sequel to the previous enmity, the two sides, both equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each other at the village on December 23, leaving Najir critically injured.
Later, the injured were admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital. As his condition was critical, he was referred to DMCH, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday noon, according to a news agency report.
