BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir assured that his party will avoid ‘conflicting activities’ for a peaceful rally on January 5.
He made the statement to reporters after a meeting on rally preparations at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters on Monday. Leaders of the party and its affiliate organisations attended the meeting.
“We want to make it clear that our rally will be peaceful; we will not indulge in any conflicting activities,” Fakhrul pointed out. He asked for the cooperation of the authorities to make the January 5 rally a success.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police have also given permission to both parties to hold the rallies between 2pm and 5pm. In addition, it set some other conditions for organising the rallies, according to bdnews24.com. -Mithun
