Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said his party along with the people would give a stern reply if BNP unleashes terrorism and subversive acts tomorrow in the name of its political programme.
"BNP unleashed many subversive acts and terrorism in its bid to kill democracy but people gave a befitting reply to their evil activities. People of the country want to see what sort of political programme BNP has been opting for tomorrow," he said.
Hanif said this while speaking as the chief guest at the extended meeting of Dhaka City Awami League at its Bangabandhu Avenue office in the city. The preparatory meeting was convened to make the Victory Day for Democracy on Tuesday.
Dhaka City Awami League (AL) acting president MA Aziz presided over the meeting, also addressed, among others, by general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, joint general secretary Advocate Quamrul Islam, and Haji Mohammad Selim.
Hanif said, "One of the top ranking leaders of Jamaat has been arrested yesterday. Nearly Taka 15 million has been confiscated from his possession during his arrest, which indicates that BNP-Jamaat combine wants to unleash terrorism and subversive acts centering January 5." The AL leader called upon all to remain vigilant against the evil design of BNP-Jamaat combine, according to BSS. -Mithun
