The Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts discussed progress in the implementation of the decisions taken by the committee on the audit objections in the annual audit reports of the comptroller and auditor general (CAG) on the purchase, storage and distribution of goods by Bangladesh Railway from fiscal 2006-07 to 2008-09.
The committee held the discussion at its 41st meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday with its Chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir in the chair.
Committee members M Abdus Shahid, Panchanan Biswas, AFM Ruhul Haq, M Afsarul Amin, Begum Rokeya Momin, M. Shamsul Haq Tuku, AKM Maidul Islam and M Rustam Ali Farazi attended the meeting.
The meeting also held discussions on the progress in implementation of decisions taken by the committee in its 11th meeting on the audit objections on the accounts of Essential Drugs Limited under the ministry for health and family welfare in fiscal 2008-09 to 2009-10, according to BSS. – DH
