A field day on BARI-Mustard-15 cultivation was arranged by Upazila Agriculture office at Char-Amlabo village under Belabo upazila of Narshindi on Wednesday.
Abdul Aziz, additional director (Admin and Finance) of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Khamarbari, Dhaka, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Presided over by the former chairman of Uslabo Union Parishad Mahfuzul Hoque Rana, it was addressed, among others, by deputy direct of DAE Latafat Hossain, Belabo Upazila Agriculture Officer Dipak Kumar Das, farmers Abdur Rahman Master, Ismail Miah, Tazul Islam and Dulal Miah.
The chief guest said Bangladesh is progressing in agriculture sector. Agriculture department now is adopting new technologies on various crops production.
He also urged farmers to bring more land under BARI-mustard cultivation in the area.
More than 3,000 farmers from different areas of the upazila took part in the programme, according to BSS. - Idrak
