Bangladesh on Thursday expressed its concern at the recent nuclear tests carried out by North Korea.
“This is in contravention of the UN Security Council Resolutions and the non-proliferation regime,” Foreign Ministry said here in a statement.
Bangladesh also urged North Korea to refrain from any activity which can potentially escalate the situation, and to reaffirm its commitment to the maintenance of peace and stability of the region and beyond.
As a state party to the NPT (Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons) and CTBT (Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty), Bangladesh is committed to nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, it said, according to UNB. - Idrak
