The government has appointed Sultana Laila Hossain as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Morocco.
She will replace Ambassador Md Monirul Islam, who has been appointed as Bangladesh ambassador to Ethiopia, a foreign ministry press release said on Thursday.
Laila Hossain belongs to the 11th batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) cadre and is currently serving as the Consul General in Bangladesh Consulate General, Los Angeles, USA.
Earlier, she served in Bangladesh missions in New Delhi and Yangon in different capacities.
She also worked as Director General (Consular & Welfare) in the ministry of foreign affairs.
Laila Hossain obtained MSc degrees in Microbiology from Dhaka University. In personal life, she is blessed with a daughter, according to BSS. – DH
