Workers’ Party calls to ban Jamaat

The Workers’ Party of Bangladesh called upon the government to ban the Jamaat-e-Islami and continue the government's non-communal democratic politics and end all undesirable militant activities.

The party called during a meeting of its Politburo on Thursday while Rashed Khan Menon, the party president and civil aviation minister, in chair.

Workers’ party also criticized Pakistan's request to take back Bangladesh's diplomat Moushumi Rahman without any reason and termed it as undiplomatic. The Politburo also felt that Bangladesh should not be part of any military alliance, as it follows a policy of non-alignment.

Politburo members Bimal Biswas, Nurul Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Manik, Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mohiuddin Ahmed were present at the meeting, according to UNB. -Mithun
