Road accidents in different areas of Dhaka left at least four people killed on Friday. The accidents occurred in Ramna, Kadamtoli and Turag areas in the city.
Two unidentified young men were killed while two-three others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck near East-West Medical College Hospital on Abdullahpur-Ashulia Highway at noon.
One unidentified victim, aged around 24, died on the spot, while another one, aged around 28, succumbed to his injuries at around 1:35pm as he was being whisked off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said Officer-in-Charge of Turagh Police Stion Mahbub-e-Khuda.
In another incident, Md Saidul Islam, 22, a vegetable vendor, was hit by an unknown vehicle near Sheraton Intersection early in the morning.
Sub-inspector Anisur Rahman of Ramna Police Station rescued him and rushed him to the DMCH where the doctor pronounced him dead at around 7:00am.
In Kadomtoli area, Md Faruk Hossain, 30, a truck helper was crossing the road near Dhaka Match Factory at around 2:00am.
A sand-laden truck hit him and fled from the scene. Critically injured, Faruk was rescued and rushed to the DMCH where he succumbed to his injures around 3:45am, according to a news agency.
