The BNP described Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s address to the nation as a ‘routine speech’ and said it has frustrated the nation.
Speaking at a press conference at the party chief’s office at Gulshan of the capital on Wednesday, acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “The nation expected that the speech would have a direction for the solution to the crisis the country. Unfortunately, the prime minister delivered only a routine speech.”
Fakhrul also said questioning the legality of BNP is an irrelevant and unnecessary issue.
Hasina addressed the nation to mark the second anniversary of her government. Private TV channels and radio stations broadcast the speech live. Alluding to the BNP, she said any slandering of the Liberation War and the freedom fighters will not be tolerated.
The BNP convened the press conference to give its official reaction to the speech’ according to bdnews24.com. -Mithun
