The visiting delegation of the 6th South Asia Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN-VI) on Thursday visited the WASH Management system at Bauniabad in Dhaka’s Mirpur area.
The delegation members from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Afghanistan expressed their keen interest in the system.
The Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor (WSUP) in collaboration with NGO Forum for Public Health is implementing the WASH Management system.
A total of 26 members visited the areas under the project and learned about the implementation process.
The visiting members also attended a public gathering at Bauniabad playground and exchanged their views with locals, especially the beneficiaries of the system.
Expressing satisfaction over the WASH facilities, Indian delegate SH Bhupendra Kumar said Bangladesh is moving forward in sanitation improvement compared to other SAARC countries, said a press release, according to UNB. - Idrak
